Carried over from my enclosed trailer thread.

You guys have me looking at pop up canopy's. What do you think of this style? Has two side walls that can be lifted to create additional space or coverage. If it is windy, I could leave them down. This place beats the heck out of others in price by $80 including shipping, for the same canopy. It is a Quik Shade product. Only color available here is sand, not the blue.

Thanks for the help guys.
Mark

The next popup I get will have walls very much like this one. Looks like a nice setup. I see this is sold by Bravo sports which is what mine says also. They must be somehow affiliated with quikshade. Whats nice is you can get replacement parts for these from quickshade if you ever need. Get some weights for the corners and you are all set. I cant remember who it was here in the Nation that told me about his weights that he made but I made some and they work great. I took 4 inch pvc pipe, about 30 inches long and filled them with concrete and then slipped caps on the ens, mainly for looks. I think he put eye bolts on the end so the weight stands up where I put my eye bolts thru the middle so they lay down. Then you take a ratchet tiedown hooked to the top of the frame and down to the weight. It's enough weight to hold down the popup in a pretty good wind

When I use my EZ-UP tent on blacktop I just use my drill and drive 4 inch washer head screws right into the blacktop. Have yet to have my tent move in mid to heavy winds.

That is why we can't use pop ups at Pitt tailgates anymore... ;)

Looks good Mark. You have me thinking about getting one for August. Let me know if you get and how you like it.

I currently have one I bought at Costco. $99 and serves its purpose. But, it is half the size of the one you found.

Thanks guys.

I think it looks well built and I like the fact, as Darrell stated about replacement parts available. This was a killer price delivered, compared to other websites. My wife wants a BIG PARTY for her 50th this May, so I think it would come in handy for that too?

So much for finding a cheap hobby. This isn't it.

She isn't bothered by it. Heck she is in better shape now than in high school. Looks about 30 and ran her first marathon last year.

She runs, I eat smoked treats.

Easy fix for that, that a 45 pound weight plate, run the leg thru the hole so the stake tab is underneath the plate and re-attach the leg to the tent.

See photo. Image

Dmax, are those standard plates or olympic sized. I've got a weight set gathering dust in the garage. I could use the 45s and the 35s...
