329 BUCKS! OUCH!
I would hate to see how much the permits for a new home would cost.
About 20years ago I was the Zoning Administrator and building inspector for Lamar county. We had a flat fee for out buildings...$10. The good old days!

Around here, no permit, they could make you tear it down. That is an awesome looking cook shack. I'd freeze my butt off here in Minnesota cooking in that in winter time though.

Yea, it happens since the one corner is over 4 ft and it has a roof, i had to fill out a house permit or something, cant get the easy deck permit.

I know they could be hard, and yes if they want they can make me take it down, so I am just wanting to get through the inspections...

As far as freezing, you shouldn't be spending that much time in front of the cooker, I am sure she will purr right along all winter long, and I don't have to roll out from the garage, and back in any more.

Has to be better than cooking my turkey in my wsm in a snowstorm.... burr that was cold...

Fortunately, from what I have researched, as long as it is not physically "attached" to the home (I am looking at a freestanding connected to patio) no permit or inspection needed. :D

My county prior to issuing a building permit requires an inspection of the sewage drain field. If the septic system isn't up to county code, you are fixing that even before laying a shingle on a roof. And yes, by the county I'm required a building permit for reshingling my house. So what would start out as a simple few hundred dollar shingle job could change to a $12,000 + septic drain field.
