Ladies and Gentlemen on this sunday December 29th a great mountain was tamed. leftover brisket from CHRISTmas was used to make one of the greatest dishes (IMHO) of them all. Here is a link to the recipe. i use the term "recipe" loosely. i never have all the ingredients that they ask for, i just kind of use what i got. i think Stump calls that "Cookin". :D

http://www.cookingchanneltv.com/recipes ... f-pie.html

here are the substitutions that were used
beef - i warmed the chopped brisket, did NOT cook it as described in the recipe
pine nuts - used sunflower or pumpkin seeds cant remember
tomato paste - this i was the most proud of. didn't have any (actually i had three jars once i cleaned out the pantry days later but we digress   ). i used this tomato basil jelly/jam my wife bought at some craft fair or something
orange - used whatever citrus i had
parmesan - again, whatever was in the fridge

That looks absolutely amazing. So what did your tastebuds have to say about the final product? I'm always looking for new ways to use leftover smoked meat. I'm putting this ON THE LIST.

I love Shephards Pie. Great idea. Try Cottage Pie next. Same thing with chicken...

the wife really likes ground turkey as the main protein. being leaner you kind of have to take that into account (fat content, etc). the pie is such a versatile and interchangeable dish.

THANKS FOR ALL THE NICE COMMENTS STUMPNATION :D
