I went to a local business today called TNT Landscaping. They also do comp bbq and sell products from smokers to sauces and rubs. I decided to buy some pecan and give it a try next time. The chunks were 1.49 a pound which is just as cheap or cheaper than ordering from Baxter or Fruita. It is nice to have those kind of places near, so I can go and look at things instead of trying to order online.

Mike is good people. ;)
The website and link for his BBQ supply company is listed below on the main forum page.

Hawgeyes

I wish it was in my neighborhood.
If they don't have it (sauces and/or rubs) it's probably either brand new, or you don't need it.

Eric,

Pecan is great on beef and what it does to poultry should be illegal (best turkey I have ever had was smoked with pecan). It is all I use with my competition chicken.

For pork, I mix pecan in with hickory and apple.

Never tried it on pork by itself. Maybe someone has?

Thanks,

Bill

I just love the smell of it. Does wonders for chicken also.

Did you pick up yourself some Blues Hog also?

Actually yes I did. I haven't tried it yet. I think I will crack the jar open tonight and give it a taste.

I went with the regular blues hogs sauce. Now I really want to try it but I can't because the was craving pizza, so we went out. I am going to try when I get home.

I am trying the Smoky Mountain for the first time today. After the finger test, I wonder why I didn't try it earlier. Sweet, tangy. I'll let you know how it is on my ribs.

The glaze that puts on the meat is amazing. Taste is better yet. Like many here I cut it with a little Tennessee red sauce for a little more tang to it.

I tried it as soon as I got home and I liked it. It is thick. I think it would go great on ribs. I am going to have to try the other ones.

Eric
