i cut down a friends crab apple tree today and he gave me the wood and still got to go back for the big chunks . i searched the internet and most said it taste like apple but i want your guys opinions if you have used it ? it smells very good and has a pretty color but it seems like i might haft to season it longer .

I'd season it about 3 months or so. Then use it sparingly 'til it's dryer.

Get it up off the ground and loosely cover with a tarp (so it won't mildew) with good ventilation.

That looks like a TWO Lifetime supply with a Stump's. :lol:

then you have not seen my wood supply of Cherry , Hickory and Apple that i have double stacked deep in crates in my garage all ready chunked up :mrgreen: i love all the different kinds of woods i can get where i live up here in the sticks .

and i just ordered another half cord of cherry not split for next year , gotta try different wood guys , lol :mrgreen: . i like also that my smoke on the meat stays the same and does not change when buying big amounts .

By the way I've heard good things about the '64 first growth apple and the late harvest cherry is supposed to be divine :lol:

I think the crab apple will fit in smokewise if you have the room that is.
