got a great buy on fresh cut Cherry today and will be buying some Hickory from him real soon too . i only paid $80 for all this , i think i have a new wood guy . i love living in Missouri with all the wood choices .

i use a old vise on a long board to hold the wood splits .

Cherry all chunked up but my chainsaw needs a new blade now . that Cherry is worse than Shag Bark Hickory on dulling the blades , i sharpened then three times on this session .

do you guys worry about chain oil or fuel/exhaust smells getting on the wood?

The more I see your pile of splits, it has me missing my offset. I wwould never get rid of my Stumps, but I think I am missing my offset a little

i still got my offset and use it often , i love to monitor the temps on it all day , it is a art .

i been doing it for years and it is such a little amount i do not see a problem using it and for the smell all it smells like is sweet Cherry :P
